Facebook Timeline: Digital Nostalgia Gone Mainstream 

One of the trends we’ve been talking a bunch about lately on this blog is the rise of digital nostalgia - amidst all the real-time buzz, there are new services and apps emerging that help you remember.  now that facebook has been around for several years, it’s no longer just a way to stay in the present, but a way to relive the past.

While this has been emerging, the announcement of Facebook’s new timeline UI means that this digital mental state is now mainstream.  While these other apps and services are supplemental, your Facebook page arguably is your portal into your digital world. Now the past will have so much more of a factor in how people know you.  Interesting to think what a profound effect this might have on relationships and that tend to be all about the now.
